Black Identity 2016
This project focuses on defining black identity. When asking the question what identity is, the usual answer would be the way in which you perceive yourself. In reality, identity is merely a construct that is assigned to you by others and many people upon first glance will define you differently based on appearances. Within this series of photographs, I explore various aspects associated with black culture in order to give a visual insight into how I believe my identity is perceived by the world that surrounds me.
